Just to let you guys know, I am "hanging up my mics" now.
Been doing it for a few years now, and its too expensive to maintain the gear, and I kind of want to enjoy gigs again.
There are plently of great tapers here now, particularly arkil, OasisDouglas and JK. I will torrent some shows from my backlog sometime, but after that I am firmly a leecher

DAMN... Is it April 1?

I hope this is like a Michael Jordan retirement and you will be back soon. Just like Jordan had to pull those sneakers hanging on the wall and try it again... I hope you do the same with your mics.

In all seriousness though Norm, THANKS for the great recordings and I think you have been one of the biggest contributors to the bootleg collectors community on this forum.

PS
By the way... just in case you didn't know, they don't drug test bootleg tapers so if that's why you're retiring then you can reconsider.

In your dreams douglas :)
:D hehe... I actually bought a Jukebox (original... not the 3) and it has been fairly good. I'm looking into a DAT right now anyway... thinking I want to go in that direction.

If you change your mind I will trade you straight accross for my walkman (it's kinda big, so it's hard to crotch it... although I'm sure you could manage once you come out of retirement):

I bet that eats the batteries!
I love my JB3, even though its nearing the end of its life. I would need to buy another if I continued to tape, but they are getting pretty rare now.
There are these new microdrive (or something out now) which record onto sd cards or mini drive type things. They are pricy and buggy at the minute, but they would be the business in a year or so.
