Perhaps not the cheapest but I bought 100 Datawrite 8 speed DVD-Rs for £31.80 this included delivery. I bought them off Ebay at 16.30 on Monday and had them here by 11am Tuesday now thats pretty damn fast. Look up the name "buyblanks" on Ebay thats the log in name the company use, they are in my favourite sellers now.
But other than that I can usually pick up 100 Datawrite red tops 4 speed for £16 from Silicon Computing Scotland, not so keen on these disks though, the Yellow tops are better and you can get them for £20 for 100 same place.
whatever

These are quite cheap and have different offers each week
yeah I usually get my DVD's from ebay also. I aint had any problems with the redtops, and been using them most recently.
I did have to go buy some from John Menzies (cant mind name now) and it cost me a fortune, but I had to get a trade out quick and had no dvd's

Yeah I know what you mean about John Menzies and most other high street retailers, robbing buggers, its enough to put people off buying a DVD recorder. We have Panasonic standalone recorders that use RAM disks and the price of them in those stores is again totally OTT, love the RAM system though and again Ebay was the place for them.
beleive it or not i got a load of red top datawrite from the local fishing shop £4 for 25 a defo bargin! shame they don't get them in all the time!
Silicon is a great shop to by them in, really cheap. I think they've only got two branches though, so it's good if you live locally, and not if you don't.
By the way Watson, it's WHSmith's now.

which one do you go to edinburgh or alloa?
Edinburgh, what about you?
i guess the cheapest i've ever got them online is proberly from ebay tho! think i got 100 dvds for about £25, just a cunt paying for the p+p!

Berny.. I go to the Alloa shop, its Ok small but well stocked, I thought the guys were well clued up until I heard one main guy giving advice to a punter about Panasonic DVD recorders, he had not a clue. Still a decent shop though. is the Edinburgh shop big or small?
Tiny, boxes stacked up everywhere inside. They always seem quite knowledgeable to me there, but generally when I go to by things I have researched before, so I wouldn't have found out if they weren't.
Great prices though.
lately i've been getting memorex dvd-r from morrisons, £8 for 25, this is the best media i have come by, so think its well worth the money! not sure if it is all morrisons as we went to one in morley the other week and they didn't have them, but if u can get them, they are well worth it
but been using www.svp.co.uk which i was told about before, and been getting datasafe (which until last week) never had a problem with, think there about £6 for 25 and the p+p is also cheap!
which do you prefer out of the following:
Princo, Memorex, Fujifilm, Sony, Verbatim
memorex my personal fav, never had 1 prob with them can't say i've used many of the other brands tho
do you anything about what dyes are used?
i've heard that the discs with dark blue bottoms are better than pale blue or semi-transparent

Used to use silicon group for disks when there was a shop in Leith but shut down about 6 months ago !! Now have to go to the local shop for 50 x Ridisk 8 speed for £12 not had 1 coaster yet !

This shop is just around the corner from my home so I go here.
Traders who use cheap crap media should be shot. It's all well and good buying the cheapest discs' you can buy to save a bit of money, but if you have to compress stuff onto them they tend to screw up more often than quality media. Take Jointrips 15th Anniversary Rolling Stones Atlantic City. Double DVD, I have it on 2 Memorex DVD+R, it plays perfectly. When I tried to copy it onto Bulk Paq printable disc's, it would not play back properly. I use Datawrite Titanium & Grey DVD-R, they are the dogs b****ks.
Datawrite do a full face printable DVD-R which they claim is the Grey disc with a printable surface, this is utter rubbish! I have used 100+ Datawrite Grey DVD-R's and they have only screwed when I have burned at 8X, the printable ones which are meant to be the same are utter crap. Out of a tub of 25 only 1 has worked.
This could be just my rewriter not liking them, I don't know. Either way I use Ritek if I get printable DVDR's.
