Need to come up with some standard for all comparisons.

Title : Date - Venue

eg 2000/07/22 - Wembley Stadium, London (Date is Year, Month, Day - so threads can easily be ordered by Date if needed)

Then the post should consist of
Date: (Full Date)
Venue: (Full Venue, Country)
Tracks: (Full tracklisting)

Length: (Exact Time Length in minutes/seconds -56:49)
Gen: (1st, master, dtv etc)
DVD Recorder: (if known)
Resolution: (720x576 etc)
Video Bitrate: (7500kbps etc)
Audio: (256kbps AC3 etc)
Source: (if known)
Screenshot:
(2 screenshots taken at 2 different points of the dvd, using powerdvd with no bright setting, saved to JPG with 15% compression)

Also its good to know the time at which the screenshot was taken, and a brief description of the audio at that point (as some time powerdvd is a bit off)

This is just my suggestion, Please feel free to add and amend any of the above so we can come up with a standard. Saves answering questions later:)

I would agree but most of the lists I have seen so far are lucky to have any running times or details IE

U2, TV comp 03

If you ask people who offer up lists like that for details then your pissing in the wind for details like this

Resolution: (720x576 etc)
Video Bitrate: (7500kbps etc)
Audio: (256kbps AC3 etc)

How about we just do all our lists in Latin?

The whole idea of this part of the forum was a place to compare dvds. The whole details thing gives those who might have a better version more info on what you have to begin with.

It takes 2 seconds to jam the dvd in TDA and get up the bitrates, resolution and exact length..The rest is piss.

A screenshot may have been enough in the past, it still does a great job now, but advantages are in that bitrate/res info, can see if you have the same version, the exact length can see if you have been shafted by trading labels, Having the tracklisting, date & venue in the first post give the full info of the dvd to begin with, not pages down the line, Source & DVD recorder if known can also be used to see if uve been shafted by a pioneer to VHS to Philips dvd recorder version.

Its all good, just lazyness. :)

You can use the Comparison post to be just like a trading website, showing a dvd you have, one screenshot and no info, but this should be more than just that, it should be the Ultimate RESOURCE!!!!! ;)

Nice & Optimistic

The reason for wanting the Ultimate DVD resource:
http://forums.bootleg.org.uk/showthread.php?t=1632

Whats wrong with more than just a screenshot and venue? Trading is beyond that if you want to get the best and make sure you arnt being ripped off.

And the source section is a main benefit to the first poster- its them wanting a newer version, 1 minute longer typing the post is no big deal.

Would be better to get all of this info, cause it benifits us all in the long run with our own dvd's

Also the Date form I would like to suggest is in UK form, as others sometimes post in US

so YYYY/MM/DD or DD/MM/YYYY :)

think its a better way to compare shots and gens! BUT.... we seem to be losing the way a bit, the whole point of this was to get as close to the part of the dvd we are meant to compare with! ok so some of the dvd might be better quality then other parts! but should say the shot was took at 03.13 and try and get as close to that as poss!

but i think its the clearest and best way yet to compare dvds, anybody with other ideas on how to make this better to trade just post away!

Noticed its better to have Date then Venue, (Year/Month/Day)

It can be ordered by date that way, to make searching easier. ;)
