COLDPLAY have announced their first gig of 2005.

The group will headline ‘A Sounds Eclectic Evening’, organised by LA radio station KCRW (March 12).

The original concert which was set to feature Coldplay members Chris Martin and guitarist Johnny Buckland was postponed by the station last month for undisclosed reasons, but yesterday they announced the new date would feature the band’s full line-up.

The concert will take place at the city’s Universal Ampitheatre.

The show is currently sold out and tickets for the original date of November 20, will be honoured at next year’s show.

In other news, the band have donated a signed triple platinum disc of their 2002 album ’A Rush Of Blood To The Head’ to a schoolgirl, which has raised £4,000 for charity.

Sarah Sainsbury wrote to the band asking for their autographs to help with her school’s appeal to aid Breast Cancer Care, but instead the group sent her the autographed disc.

Sainsbury, from Farnham, Surrey, sent the gift to a London fashion event, where it fetched £4,000 in auction.

According to The Sun, she said: "I was amazed and delighted when I heard how much it fetched."

the only band i would pay over £20 to see is only oasis! although coldplay are great they don't have that thing on stage to make the crowd go nuts like oasis do! just basically chris martin sat at a piano and having a jump around now and again!
