View Full Version : New Songs?
I know they said they weren't play anythin new for Glasto, but hopefully they will for this, as it will be very low key :heh:
He didn't say that they weren't going to play any as such, he said that they didn't have any to play, which suggests they would play new stuff if they could.
Well Noel has already played Stop the Clocks at a Stands gig, so that could be a good un :D
Unless he's forgotten how to play it in the spell in between?
Maybe he's just saying they won't play anything, so that everyone is surprised?
I dunno?
Where are all the people who were at that gig where Stop The Clocks was played anyway? I've never heard of anyone who has actually heard it and isn't lying.

Think there was 1 or 2 genuine people on oasisforum that had, but no-one was recording at that gig to get a version of it leaked out :(

Im glad the Poole gig is before Glasto cos the setlists will prob be exact the same meaning those who go to Poole wont have a clue what songs are going to be played making it more exciting as I normally know exactly what song is going to be played and when.
Yeah that's a point, Oasis don't vary setlists much. I reckon If anything they may play more in Poole as they might be experimenting a bit.
When I went to Travis a few months back, I had read the setlist from the night before so I thought it would be the same. The set opener was diffirent, so I felt silly after telling my mates what it would be.
heh, even saying that brian, tis good sometimes, cause we know the setlists, so you know what songs are gonny be played, so you wont be dissapointed if they dont play one if you didnt know what it was.
Saying that, if you knew setlist, and were looking forward to it, youd be even more dissapointed.
TIS A CATCH 22 SITUATION --- whatever that fkin means :D:D:D
One of the reasons Shepherd's Bush was so great was because I didn't know the set. She's Electric was really unexpected!
I think they'll play 2 new songs. The media will slaughter them (even more than usual) if they don't have anything to show from the last 2 years.
Isn't the Glastonbury gig to celebrate 10 years since they released Definitely Maybe? I have a feeling it will be more of a greatest hits gig than a showcase for new material.

i went to the gig at birmingham, which one did you go to? they were awesome weren't they. Do you know anyone or anywhere where one could get recordings of the recent travis gigs???
I was at the second night at the SECC.
I was wondering about recordings myself, it's probably best to keep an eye on the Travis Hub - http://www.travishub.com
yeah I was offered a ticket for 2nd night, but me burd at the time went the 1st night, so I decided to aswell.

If Noel does an acoustic set there might be a new song or two but I'd doubt there'd be a full band song, unless they decide to spend a lot of time perfecting one (thereby negelcting work on the album). Here's hoping anyway, I'd love to here any of the new songs. Hopefully they'll at least change the setlist, probably fewer HC tracks. Will the BBC show the whole set, or just a few songs?
BBC will prolly show whole set, but thats why they wont play new songs at Glasto
They may do at poole though, and I dont think there is any plans for tv camera's to be there at all

My mate is at Uni at Liverpool and he went to gig with The Coral, The Bandits, The Stands and a few others and 2 amps blew up while the bandits were playing, so Noel and Andy Bell, who were there to watch, got up and did a small acoustic set (even though Andy Bell usually plays bass) and they played Stop the Clocks and one other that he said hasn't got a title yet! No one my mate spoke to had taped the set though!

No sorry, but if I find the Birmingham gig on there I'll happily convert it to mp3 for you or I could put it on a CDR and mail it to you. I don't think it's on there yet though, but I'll let you know if it appears :)

Hmm, I thought it was Noel and Gem who played it?
What did your mates think of them?
Watson, do we get Glasto on telly in Scotland?
yeah we do Berny :D
I think we get it at same time as the english too :D

Yeah it is usually Noel and Gem who do the acoustic sets, that's why I was shocked when he told me that the bass played had played with Noel! My mate said both new songs were really promising but would have sounded a lot better with drums and electric guitars!

I've never seen it before, but I'll have to keep my eye out for it. I've only ever seen T In The Park covarage up here.

Anyone speak spanish in this forum???,,,please :)
What means "Glasto", Watson?
If I had choice between hearing new songs or hearing the songs I already have heard and like I would choose the later.
If I ever have opportunity to see the Oasis boys in live performance I would sure be disappointed if they did not play 'Some Might Say' and 'Cigarettes and Alcohol'.

I'm even more gutted I'm not going now. Can probably listen on the radio but they won't play the new songs on the radio!!! They played My Big Mouth & It's Getting Better Man at Knebworth but it wasn't recorded on Radio 1!!!
There will be tapers at both gigs mate :D
They played a couple new tracks at the Poole gig...you can get the whole set for download on Soulseek if looking there. Not the greatest sound quality, but something is better than nothing.
i think A BELL WILL RING is okay but THE MENING OF SOUL sounds crap
