Neighbours said goodbye to 2004 with the biggest disaster in the history of the soap. The Lassiter's complex was in the process of being completely destroyed with Stuart and Sindi apparently still inside, Max was on the brink of death and Steph was facing accusations of murdering her grandfather.
Australian viewers find out what happens next on January 10th, while viewers in the UK won't see the dramatic finale until March. So if you can't wait until then, read on to find out the full story of what happens..
Izzy is missing and with Karl's car gone too, people start to wonder if Gus has anything to do with it. However, Susan arrives to inform them all that Izzy has taken off. Susan assures him that she didn't say or do anything to cause it, she just wasn't going to be stopped. Karl agrees that everyone should head over to the pub as the wedding isn't going to happen and he wants to be on his own. Izzy eventually turns up and tells Karl she couldn't go through with running away - he can't believe that she wanted to hurt him so much, but she tells him that she loves him and wants to be given a second chance.
Doreen manages to make contact with Charlie's son, Michael, through the Australian Embassy and he's on his way. Charlie is taking a turn for the worse and Steph looks after him. He tells her not to let wanting a baby eat her up and that he's got a gift for her after he goes.
At No.32, Boyd sees Gus and gives him a serve. Max arrives on the scene and tries to cool things down, acting like Gus is a good mate, but Boyd won't let up. When Stuart and Sindi come out, Gus bolts. Stu chases after him but loses him.
At the pub, everyone's talking about the wedding and Izzy's disappearing act when she and Karl turn up. Izzy makes a public apology to Karl and everyone else, adding that sometimes spectacular mistakes do happen. They hope everyone can forgive them or wish them well. Susan is mortified and goes to walk out - Izzy stops her to say thanks for making her see reason, but Susan just glares and leaves.
Charlie dreams of Valda and their wedding vows - he wakes up coughing and he asks Doreen to get him some paper so he can write a letter to Valda. He says he's happy to be with his family, but sad to be leaving them. He's dying now and there's nothing that can be done. Steph wants him to hang on for Valda but he doesn't think he can. He tells her not to cry, but be happy for him.
At the pub, everyone tries to get their head around Izzy's return while Lil gets a call from Anna, Luka's adoptive mother, to say that he's gone missing - David says if he turns up, they can give him somewhere to stay. Izzy is glad to be back but still worried about Gus. Meanwhile, a mystery figure sneaks into the pub storeroom and pours a bottle of spirit all over the place before setting fire to it and watching it burn.
Back in the bar, Karl gets a phone call from the hospital to say that Darcy's had a stroke and it's destroyed what little brain function he has left. Then just as Harold smells something burning, the fire alarm goes off and Lou and Max evacuate the pub - convinced it's a false alarm. Max heads to the storeroom and sees the place ablaze - Stuart tells him that it's too far gone to fight. Lou can't believe it and they have to drag him out.
Across the way, Harold sees the Coffee Shop is also on fire and rushes in to try and fight it - Toadie has to drag him out but he makes a dash back in to retrieve something just as the kitchen explodes. Luckily for him he has ducked behind the counter and he and Toadie make a dash out. On the way, Harold drops whatever it was he picked up. Stuart wonders what's happened to Sindi, Toadie says he last saw her in the pub so Stuart dashes back inside. The pub is filled with smoke and Stuart covers a bar cloth with water to breathe through. He finds Sindi unconscious in the ladies toilet and slings her over his shoulder so they can both get out.
Back at No.26, Steph is crying as Charlies passes away peacefully. She kisses him on the cheek and gets up to move the pillow away from behind his head, as she does this, Lyn and his son, Michael turn up and from their angle, it looks like Steph has smothered him. Michael wants to know what she's done to his father.
Lassiter's continues to burn and Toadie wants to head into the pub to rescue Stuart and Sindi, who still haven't appeared. Inside, Sindi wakes up and she and Stu fight to get out. However, their path is blocked as the ceiling begins to fall in and they end up trapped as the flames take over.
Harold realises he's dropped Madge's recipe book, so Max dashes back over to the Coffee Shop to retrieve it - just as he finds it, the place explodes and sends Max flying through the air. Izzy is distraught and Karl calls for an ambulance. When the emergency services arrive, they put Max on a stretcher. As he is loaded into the ambulance, the crowd watch on as the pub roof caves in and the place literally collapses into a huge ball of flames. Lou is inconsolable and Toadie is horrified at the thought of his friends still inside.

It was fucking magic

And Paul Robinson turned up right at the end, and it looked like he was gonny smirk, but it had you wondering. Cause it didnt show who lit the fire, but it was either him or Gus

Defo the best episode in a long long time
