Some lossless concerts on the net are in SHN format, some are in FLAC format.

isn't shn files compressed audio files? makes it easier to upload/download then u need a program to transfer back to wav
and i think flac is a direct file, but u can burn that directly to disc!
whatever is clued up with owt like this, so maybe he could shed some more light on it
flac is also a compressed file, but there is a long running debate with it. Me personally I dont mind either, but I always seem to use flac when uploading a gig, prolly just the 1st i come too

flac is superior - it can do wider word widths, checksums are embedded in the actual track rather than having to be carried in a separate file (md5), flac offers some ability to recover from decode errors and you can add meta-tags. Compression efficiency is better also.
