I'm going to see Kasabian and Oasis in a few weeks and want to know if Kasabian allows taping. I know Oasis does not. But I would use better mics if the band allows it rather than doing it stealth.

Are you sure about that? I thought Noel said he had loads of Beatles bootlegs so he couldn't complain about Oasis ones or something.

You could be right, but do they notify the venue about there open taping policy or do I ahve to be quiet about it? I know the Cure don't care if you tape but they do not let the venue know about the taping policy. At least to the shows that I've been to in the U.S.

Oasis does not really tellt he venues anything, one way or another. At the last Detroit, MI show I asked their sound engineer about audience taping + Oasis... he said that the band/management "looks the other way". It's a non-issue. When Kasabian opened for The Music, I asked both sets of sound engineers, Kasabian's guy said that he didn't know, the Music are a no taping band.

If you are going to see Kasabian when they open for Oasis, as I am again, the venue may use metal wands. Not a big deal if you know how to circumvent that issue.

You will have to stealth, irregardless & no matter what. End of story.
