if you can connect you pc & your cassete record (need a special cable, you can buy it in every electric shop), you can record a wav-file with cool edit (you can split the songs with cool edit too). the link to download is in helpdesk forum (how to detect mp3-sourced cds thread)

Thanks for that.
I can get the wav files on to my pc no problem.
I now just need to edit them and split into individual tracks.

First one now converted. Just got to work my way through a box of tapes.

glad to hear that, you can also split wavs with EAC, but if you're happy with cool edit, no need for me to explain how it works with EAC :)

a quick question bout this

I have a few bootlegs on tape. If I recorded them to my PC as wavs are they classed as lossless bootlegs

IF you use cool edit to split your 1 large wav file into individual tracks you will end up with sector boundary errors.
You are far better off using CDwav to split it up. Otherwise you will have to use Shntool or Flac frontend to repair the SBE's.

Tape to .wav will be lossless as long as what was recorded wasn't compressd in the first place.
