View Full Version : Update On New Oasis Album
just a little clip from the sun about the recording of the new oasis album
"OASIS will fly to a Los Angeles recording studio in two weeks to get back to work on their sixth album. It will now be released in March — six months after it was originally due to go on sale.
NOEL GALLAGHER said: “We have got four tracks down but there is still another six or seven to do.
“We’ve spent almost a year recording but we haven’t got the sound right — but the songs are good.”
Brother LIAM has written lyrics and GEM ARCHER and ANDY BELL will also have songs included.
Meanwhile Noel said on Aussie TV he hasn’t changed much after a decade of fame, adding: “I still take a lot of pride in drinking and shagging.”

JUST ON THE NME WEBSITE
OASIS ALBUM 'DUE IN FEB'
NOEL GALLAGHER says he’d still like to release a new OASIS single this year – but the chances of it actually happening are slim.
The band have spent much of the year working on songs for the follow-up to ’Heathen Chemistry’. Following their appearance at Glastonbury they scrapped the sessions, and have been back in the studio again recently.
Speaking to Radio 1, Gallagher said that four songs were completed, with a release most likely to come in February 2005.
He said: “We've finished about 4 tracks now, so I think , hopefully in an ideal world we'll have a single out by the end of the year but it's probably looking like it'll be Feb next year.”
In a recent letter to NME, Noel explained the problems with recording so far.
The letter read:
"Dear NME,
"We started talking about recording a new Oasis album in November last year. We thought it would be a great idea to try something different with the production this time around, and Liam came up with the idea of using Death In Vegas as producers/mixers, which everyone believed would be a fantastic collaboration.
"We drew up a list of songs (10 in total), booked Sawmills Studio in Cornwall and gave ourselves three weeks. Unfortunately, after the recording process we decided we didn’t like anything we had played/recorded during those three weeks, and because of commitments with Death In Vegas, Richard Fearless and Tim Holmes couldn’t find any more time to give to the project. It was then decided we would attempt to finish off the record ourselves, which so far has proven quite frustrating and fruitless. All the while, new songs have been written and old ones have fallen away. So we think the 'moment' for that particular record has passed.
"We plan to start work on a new set of songs some time in July and we hope to have a new album out in February/March 2005, so hopefully you will hear some new tunes by the end of the year.
"As for the other two points you’ve raised, the one about separate dressing rooms, is as usual, laughable. And as for not watching Macca from the stage, all I can say is Liam and his friends did, and me and my friends prefer the shared experience of the masses to the privileged position of the few. Now if you don’t mind…
"Peace, love and bananas,
"Noel Gallagher."
That letter was quite old, read it before, think they posted it a few months back

whatever
08-09-2004, 14:42
thats it
Thats what people were talking about, how they think that Def Mabye will pop back into the Top 10, cause of all the hype with the release of the DVD. Which would be class, 10 years on :D
whatever
08-09-2004, 14:58
very true. 10 years on and back in the top 10.
But the only thing is. Who will be buying it? Cause all the fans already have it.
be a new generation of fans wanting to know what the fuss is about! and hopefully transform them to oasis fans! :D
Lots of people would buy it again, cause I am pretty sure there are alot of arseholes that just downloaded it.
Also you gotta think about that you only need a few thousand record sales nowadays to get into the top 40, so for those that did download it, mabye they will decide to go actually buy it. Or it may be damaged or summit heh.
I need to actually buy HC again, cause I got no Idea where the CD for mine is :(
whatever
08-09-2004, 15:03
never thought of it that way.
I need to actually buy HC again, cause I got no Idea where the CD for mine is :(
just reminded me! i got a import this the other day for heathen chemistry with a bonus dvd with it, might have to watch that when i get home late tonight!
Is the bonus CD not just one of the DVD singles?
Either Hindu Times or Little By Little I thought.
The Bonus CD on Def Mabye was Whatever, on the Japaneese or Australian Import, thinking of buying it again just for that.
I need to start getting the imports (Best get a job 1st I spose)
i got the def maybe import for £1.20p on ebay :D the australian import with the extra disc with whatever, good to be free and half the world away on!
the japeneese import i think has sad song on
the heathen chem bonus dvd is the same as little by little dvd, just put it on and noticed it straight away, with that hindu guy on it, ROCK AND ROLL MAN! quality!

whatever
09-09-2004, 08:41
Yeah. Never open it.
I did that with Happy Christmas War Is Over - John Lennon.
My Granny was moving house and she was throwing all her records out. So I took JL and Eric clapton and locked them away. They will be worth a fortune in years to come
if you put them at a penny on ebay at the starting price they'll go for a lot more in the end! trick of ebay, i don't know why they bid more like that but i've always made loads doing it that way!
my dad has a load of pink floyd, stones, zeppelin and who vinyls in the loft! 1 of them alone is worth over £2000, a rolling stones vinyl with the zip cover! i think if the house was ever on fire he wouldn't waste his breath waking me up and just go for them :D
