Used to be Number one at Notts County, He's a 6 foot 5 inch keeper who commands his area like a wheely bin! He often spills shots like Howard or drops crosses like James. A mixture of the two I suppose :)

Think if they played Rooney just behind Van N. and Smithy. Did fergie mention something like this in a press conference just after they brought him? All you will need is a Goalkeeper and a defender and second place could be easily achieved, might need a bit more to get above Arsenal though
the thing is tho carroll always does a good job, think he should be given a good chance! think when ferdinand returns on monday he could be a big help to the defence! cause the others are about as much use as a chocolate firegaurd!

I always seem to forget about Carroll, he's a good keeper. Remember when he played for Wigan against us (think it was one of his last games for them) he was unbeatable! They played a lot of clips on Sky Sports news from that game after Man Utd brought him.
hes so reliable tho! i know he dosn't play much but he seems to shout at the defenders and wake them up too and don't make a cock up! i never saw him play for wigan tho!

it's just got me thinking about Goalkeeper at top level. Who was the goalkeeper they signed with a lot of expectation and when he played LeTissier scored a 30yrd scuff shot that went through his legs?

Fools is quality :D What happened with Roma game is, Mexes got sent off for kicking somebody right on stroke of half time. As the ref, Anders Frisk walked off he had something chucked from the stand at him and was pooring with blood. Sounds like Madrid took a bit of a hammering.
is that frisk the ref who cost england in portugal?

Urs Mier was the referee I think, just come to me. I mainly get used to refs as they're so poor in lower leagues of England you just get used to taking note who it is.
I agree with Real being past it, players like Zidane and Figo were worldbeaters in their younger days, but don't really have that same impact on games anymore. As for Beckham..

Couldn't agree more, everyone thinks he's great and would be everybodys first choise left back. Most of his free kicks are shocking! It'll be interesting in spain, as you said, Barca looking good and maybe Vallencia could be a strong team to in spain. Raul and Ronaldo looked about as sharp as balloons tonight, don't think fergie will rate him quiet so highly now.
As for the Roma incident, it's been comfirmed that it was threw from the VIP area!

i read in a paper the other day that a player from italy (i think) got a 10 match ban for FAILING a drugs test! ferdinand got a 10 month ban just for missing a test! totally takes the piss!
i've just seen a clip of the roma game! u can see some1 in the background launching something at the ref! ur right tho if that would have been in england there would have been hell to pay! kiev should get the points i reckon! and roma should get a ban on the stadium for a few games! speaking of trouble at grounds millwall are in europe tonight! they'll show how to get banned from a stadium the proper way :D

thats just why he was banned tho cause he was/is a big name in football and they made an example of him! what really pisses me off tho is that edgar davids failed a drugs test got a 8 month ban then appealed against the ban and got it reduced to 3 months! its a poor state of affairs like that tho! what does this tell kids tho! take drugs rather then miss a drugs test! its ridiculous!

think davids has been around a while so more people would have heard of him, but the whole ferdinand issue was too much to do with the brittish media to just give him a slap on the wrists!
my mother has the same condition davids has glaucoma and it does effect the sight and sometimes putting contacts in can cause the pressure to go higher in the eyes so i think thats why he wears the glassers! a lot of the american sport stars wear them too! but i do think a bit of it is down to advertising rights too!

Its not just english football its british football all our fans regardless of where you are from are treated like animals when you go away
English teams were banned from europe for ten years as the fans were bad. What did turkey get after that boy from leeds got stabbed not a thing a fine i think
A few fans get pissed and kick off and UEFA are threating the english team by saying they will kick england out of the competion if they dont behave what about the germans and the dutch smashing up porto and not a thing is mentioned in the media

its basically cause english fans have a bad name for causing trouble, we get passionate about the football, but we never have gone around stabbing people like in turkey! the turkey fans are much worse then us, they have banners saying welcome to hell on the stadiums! u can imagine if you go to elland road and see that banner fifa would have been down on them like a ton of bricks!

Frisk is a well loved ref over here in ireland. As he is the one that kept us in the world cup when he gave us 2 penos against spain. I think roma should get booted out of the tournament

But the club wont do a thing about it or we cant get touched by the FA as we have our own one and the most cardiff got fined was £5000 after the leeds game a few years ago when 100 cardiff fans got arrested
its like with millwall the select few fans of them have caused trouble for years and they will always be typecast as trouble causers! so extra security will be at the grounds! i dread it when leeds have to go there this season!

i think this is going to be a never ending debate as both of your are british and only see things happening from inside your country and think you are being picked on. But I see things from outside the country and think that those few thousand fans are just arsholes and when england play everybody thinks all the fans are like them.
I was at an Ireland England game in Dublin a few years ago and it was abandoned because the english fans started trashing the stadium once they went 1 nil down. What does that say to us about the english fans??????

we went to the man u - leeds game at elland road last year and my mate dressed in the full leeds gear walked into the man u end by mistake! about 4-5 coppers grabbed hold of him and chucked him straight out! the amount of police is shocking but defo needed!

About a year ago, two turkish teams had a friendly game. Can't remember the outcome but there was rioting after the game and I thnik somebody got killed. Not 100% sure on details but think it was because of a bad ref decition.
