Blackburn Rovers have named ex-Wales manager Mark Hughes as their new boss.
He was given permission by the Football Association of Wales to talk to the Premiership club on Wednesday after admitting his interest in the post.
FAW general secretary David Collins had earlier said: "There was an agreement that should a Premiership club make a request that we would consider it."
Hughes spent two years as a player at Blackburn under Graeme Souness, who left the club last week for Newcastle.
