could be also worth getting power dvd player for your labtop!
is it dvd-r? dvd+r? or just original dvds ur trying to play?
yeah some sort of proggy like that, as wmp is shit, unless you use wmp classic, which i think is based on version 5 or 6

he uses windows 8 he said he might do the upgrade to 9 ... and yeah he wants to view original dvd's ...
he told me that he received the laptop [he works for sony, so its a sony laptop] empty and re-formatted ... so his brother reformatted yet again ... and added all the software he thought would be necessary ... the only problem being .. that the software to read properly his dvd rom [its not a dvd writer] ... was lost .. so now he can only burn cd's and listen to music .. but cant view the dvd's .. and we'll check out what you guys said .. thnx .. cheers ...

okay so he said that he might have lost the software for his dvd drive, he is looking for it ... if he doesnt find it .. is there any chance for the problem to be solve without it???
i think you might need the software for the dvd drive! if you are having troubles that could be the reason! u could try going to the sony website and see if they have any software to download tho!
i use a labtop to copy dvds but my dvd player was already installed! and i use an external dvd writer to copy dvds!
